Police rescue nursing home residents as fire breaks out in Glendale

Good morning. Body camera video released this week shows Glendale police officers rushing into a burning nursing home to help get patients out safely. Fire also struck an assisted living facility in Sarasota County, Florida, injuring one person. Separately, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, police say a woman was fatally shot outside an assisted living facility by someone she knew, and investigators are looking into a murder-suicide in nearby Hanover.

On the policy side, Medicare payment questions are drawing attention from several directions. Doctors are speaking out against proposed Medicare physician payment cuts, while a new public comment period has opened on 2027 Medicare and Medicaid payment rules.
