New law bans ‘no-lift’ policies in assisted living, requires staff intervention in emergencies

The death of a Minnesota assisted living resident who suffocated after falling from his scooter and being pinned against a wall has resulted in a new law that requires operators to develop plans for immediate staff member intervention in medical emergencies until emergency help arrives.
